The thought of writing an eBook for the first time is a nerve-wracking task. However, it is not as disturbing or difficult as it seems. The beginners can create digital books easily and swiftly by following some simple steps. You can divide your voluminous data into manageable chunks. A person can use these digital books for publishing them on the Internet. It can also be used to transfer data from one system to another for coordination reasons.

"Sonnet 38 First time he kissed me" by Elizabeth Barrett Browing (poetry reading)

Or, how Robert got to first base. Chrism is a holy oil, used for anointing, such as at confirmation. If Lizzie had any sensations elsewhere in her anatomy she doesn't mention them, as of course one couldn't in polite society then. And all those damned buttons: - still, "unbuttoning" is one of the sexiest words in the language. So is "moisture" or "stocking tops" - and how about "district nurse"? I'm sorry, I seem to have wandered off topic. Robert did write Porphyria's Lover which must have made her wonder.... Perhaps they never used proper names for their parts. It also makes one wonder how their conversations in the bedroom went, what euphemisms they employed. "Oh. my love, I am so very proud..." "Oh so you are, in perfect purple state. Know then that you are welcome in every corner of my being, my love, my own" "Oh I ache for you, but confound there buttons. I sometimes think this 19th century clothing is designed to make the crown of love inaccessible, I do wish they'd hurry up and invent zip fasteners" "You're nearly there, my love, just two more layers and fifty buttons to go" "Oh...oh..oh....too late...I seem to have anticipated and spent my passion on your bustle, I'm so sorry..." "Ooh - what a shame I was so looking forward to accommodating you - feel no shame for your ardour, what greater flattery could I receive? and it will wash off. Oh, what a prodigious load of chrism! Did you have oysters for breakfast, dear heart?" "Stay as you are, I shall not be downcast ...

Finding Your Voice With Your Wedding Readings

At some point, someone (an officiant, a wedding planner) is going to hand you a list of wedding readings.

Throw it out!

If you don't want the same wedding reading as half of the world's population, you would do well to choose your own.

After all, there are no rules when it comes to wedding readings. A passage from Harry Potter can be just as appropriate and perhaps more meaningful to you than a sonnet by William Shakespeare.

Wedding Readings set the mood for the entire ceremony. They can be romantic, literary, traditional, contemporary, sentimental or instructive. You can use famous wedding poems or one written by a friend.

The more formal and traditional your wedding ceremony is, the more likely you are going to want to use traditional verses. If your ceremony is contemporary, you will feel more free to break out of the mold.

Religious ceremonies have their own pattern. For instance, in Catholic ceremonies there are four traditional readings, all of which come from the scriptures, although there are choices for each one.

One of my favorite wedding reading opportunities comes from favorite songs. Often, the people you want to have involved in your ceremony have limited vocal talents. But this doesn't mean that they can't read your favorite love song lyrics. Also, while the music might not be appropriate to the ceremony, the lyrics may express your feelings. Having a friend read the lyrics is a good compromise.

You can find Wedding Reading sites on the internet. These sites compile poems, prose, and other readings and break them down by type of ceremony.

Atelier: Plato, Seneca and Aristotle

for an extraordinary gentle-man whom I have the great privilege of calling a dear friend. A feastday sonnet I had wished to write but as I am currently bereft of my muse, I send across the oceans wide a wee songbird to sing my glad tidings in her stead... though, albeit, somewhat late. (She did have to fly a long way...) Sonnet 17 "Who will believe my verse in time to come..." by William Shakespeare (poetry reading)

Like Sonnet 18, there is little doubt that this was written to a young man. Similarly, there is no justification for any presumption of homoeroticism (not that there's anything wrong with that, according to Jerry Seinfeld) The notes attached to Sonnet 18 apply here, too. It might be addressed to Shakespeare's patron, William Herbert, 3rd Earl of Pembroke, who had already had a son who died at birth. I'm no historian and haven't researched this idea, so perhaps somebody who knows more about Shakespeare will set me straight. tinyurl.com He was a couple of years older than Shakespeare and it is usually accepted that the "Fair Youth" of the Sonnets was younger, so Henry Wriothesley, 3rd Earl of Southampton is a more likely candidate. Some analysis of this sonnet here: www.shakespeares-sonnets.com A portait said to be William Herbert is shown, painted in about 1625. The picture of Shakespeare is called the Cobbe Portrait, claimed to have been painted while he was alive in about 1610. Who will believe my verse in time to come, If it were filled with your most high deserts? Though yet heaven knows it is but as a tomb Which hides your life, and shows not half your parts. If I could write the beauty of your eyes, And in fresh numbers number all your graces, The age to come would say 'This poet lies; Such heavenly touches ne'er touched earthly faces.' So should my papers, yellowed with their age, Be scorned, like old men of less truth than tongue, And your true rights be termed a ...

Fateful Days

All pairs are decided in heaven,
Many agree and accept golden phrase even,
Lucky are those who get desired partner,
Unlucky are those who become good listener,

God gave us sense to think good or bad,
Some doesn't learn even after becoming dad,

Life seems to them like living hell,
Nothing goes right and not doing well,

Knowing not but tied to a knot,
Never asked question or asked what?
All were marrying so did I?
Never knew well before met eye,

Initial days were fine and not so boring,
Problems not few but started pouring,
Preferred living out and most on touring,
Relations getting strained and started soaring,

Never tried to know what exactly matter,
Time was running out to find it later,
In my own house I have became waiter,
Sometimes she call me fool and liar,

Happy days were those I had good freedom,
I used to enjoy more except facing boredom,
Never had it occurred or idea entered seldom,
But to marry was step taken with wisdom.

It jokingly said marriage is like sweet,
Person may enjoy when first time meet,
Who is not marrying may suffer it most,
As what is taste of sweet is permanently lost,

Life is not easy and someone outcry,
Why did he marry without knowing why?
It is easy to watch birds in the sky,
Wings may be weak but ready to fly,

Life can be made better and heaven,
Not caring for odds and try for even,
New views to be injected and made joyful,
Life is worth living after making playful

Who are we to make it hell?
When going is smooth and very well,
Why to think of woes and stories to tell,
It tantamount to cheating as soul for sale

Joy and sadness of the life,
Always in hands of wife,
If she is determined and loyal,
Life may not be hell but always royal.

For a Special Person

For a Special Person - Love Poem

She got me skyrocket high,
Feeling like I am the first man to step foot on Mars;
She is loyal and my number one ally,
She is a star
Guiding me through the dark night.

Baby, your number one,
Being with you is so much fun;
When I am down
You make me smile and laugh.

Never would I call you names
Because you are the lady that I adore;
You are the only woman that can cultivate me,
When I hit that dance floor.

You elevate me
Every time we touch;
You are the key to my heart,
That turns me on.

A Worthy Lady - Love Poem

I use to dream of dating an illustrative girl,
Now I dream of finding true love;
This kind of girl is rare as a pearl,
Rare and exclusive.

If I find her I would be satisfied,
I would be happy that she is not a gold digger;
In addition, I wouldn't be so bitter
In my days.

A girl that would be their for the good and the bad,
Be their to comfort me when I am sad;
We would fight and make up,
We would grow old together.

A girl to make love with
And have children with;
Now that is somebody worthy of marrying
And bonding.

A World For You and Me - General Poem

A world for you and me
A world for you and me to share
A world for you and me to care for
A world for you and me to enjoy

What a beautiful world
With so many different colors
A world that never stops to spin and swirl
Just for you and me

The sun continues to shine
For you and me
Cannot we see this world is for us?
Just for us to show love and compassion
To one another

Let us hold hands and make peace
All different colors of people united
As one nation
And work together to make it to the top

A January Night

I step outside,

it's a cold Januarys' night.

I look up at the sky, and through smoky clouds,

the full moon gives off a gentle, white light.

The trees are bare, looking almost ominous,

as they reach towards the stars.

Stretching out their hands, ever reaching upwards,

with long, thin arms.

The night is still and quiet,

except for a gentle, cold breeze.

And every now and then, as it reaches it's crescendo,

the smell of firewood makes it's way to me.

For some reason, it all makes me feel,

more in touch with god.

I feel it's a good time, so I pray,

and thank him, for my family, keeping us together, for all I've got.

I know I should go back inside,

to where the fires' embers are aglow and warm,

but, I'm not yet ready, and as I look up at the moon,

I can see dark clouds have begun to form.

I let my mind wander

as I look up towards the heavens.

The shapes of dark blue and gray with white edges,

I let my thoughts flow with them.

Though the cold winters' air,

has brought it's sting to my face.

I find the quiet so peaceful, so calming,

it's effect has set my mind at a gentle pace.

I hate to go inside, though I know I should.

For the chill has made it's way to my bones.

So, I look up one last time, then head back,

back to a place called home.

Scrapbooking Ideas - Using Handwriting As Your Layout

Do you like your handwriting and would prefer to have your handwriting personalized in your scrapbook? Some scrapbooking experts like to keep their work clean so making erasures and unlined quotes on the scrapbook may not be such a good idea. Still, because other people have excellent handwriting, using handwriting as one of your scrapbooking ideas may give your scrapbook an eccentric and classical look.

While some scrapbooking ideas use cover-ups such as cardstock or patterned paper for erasures, but for this, having actual erasures may even make the layout look more classical and authentic.

Borderline Handwriting

Have you seen all those cool love letters where the writing is written only around the sides until it meets the center? Although, it's a very distracting and dizzying way to layout your scrapbook, the idea of using borderline handwriting can actually make your scrapbook ancient and vintage. You can even add burn marks on the side for a more classical, edgy look. Better yet, instead of just writing random stuff, why not create a poem or a sonnet to write on the borders? Thus, when reading, it'll be more interesting.

Random Handwriting

An even simpler way to use handwriting as your layout is to simply hand write random quotes and thoughts. Don't even worry about erasures; simply double stripe your mistakes for the original, neat but erased look. Keep the writing at random positions and make whatever you write interesting. This gives the scrapbook a cute, diary-like appearance. Add small figures and drawings for an even more classic and authentic look.

Parker Sonnet Fountain Pens - An in Depth Look at One of Parker's Most Popular Promotional Gift Pens

The Parker Sonnet range of pens is one of Parker's most successful ever! If you are looking for top quality, classic fountain gift pens for your customers than you should definitely look very closely at the Parker Sonnet Fountain Pen. This popular writing instrument is available in several different finishes but the most common finish for promotional purposes is stainless steel with a chrome trim. Engraved with your logo and/or details, it is a real winner and will keep your clients thinking seeing your logo and details daily for years.

The Sonnet writes beautifully. In fact, I tested the pen for over a month and know of no other promotional fountain pen that compares for the price. It can be printed with your details or engraved. The print area is an amazing 30mm x 50mm on the barrel and 38mm x 45mm on the cap. That is more space than a lot of plastic promotional pens offer!

Recent studies have shown that people like writing with a heavy pen. Plastic promotional pens serve their purpose as excellent volume promoters but if you want to give your customers a gift you know they will use and cherish for many years, the Sonnet could be the pen for you.

If you allow yourself a little time, say four weeks and you want an even better gift pen, then you are in luck. The Sonnet is available in different more expensive finishes including a lacquered deep black option with 23 carat gold plated trim and nib and also a stainless steel version with similar 23 carat gold decoration.

You may also be interested to learn that you can special order the pen in a miniature handbag design and there is also a slim version.

These pens are not inexpensive. They are high quality writing instruments that you will want to test before you buy. This can of course easily be done by purchasing one on the high stress though you will probably get a better deal from a promotional pens supplier that specialises in metal gifts pens.

As with all Parker Pens, the Sonnet is supplied in a good quality presentation case. This is important. So many gift pens do not come supplied in any packaging and personally I feel this ruins the presentation. Parker's gift box is just another special touch that makes this pen such an attractive business gift.

The Sonnet comes with blue ink as standard. Parker inks are formatted for superior performance and the company is know for the superior quality of its gift pens. Your customers will easily be able to purchase Parker fountain pen ink in a range of colours.

There Is Purpose To Pain

Eyes of fire met mine

through the hole in the wall,

the hole, where they passed through his food.

Only sixteen years old

but he'd lived more of life

than someone seventy-five.

He pushed his hand through

looking for love,

if he'd had, he wouldn't be there.

In a 8x10 cell,

going no where,

a scapegoat for the sins of the world.

I cradled his hand

whispered, "tell me your pain,"

his story flew out of his mouth.

The hell of his life,

from those he loved,

a world where no body cared.

The mistakes that he made

just to endure,

the choices which put him in there.

I caressed his cold hand

said, "I understand,"

my own past came rushing back.

Of nights all alone

in the midst of turmoil,

from parents who cared more for themselves.

The mistakes that I made,

just to fit in,

it could have been me in that space.

I told him my story

and what I had learned,

both the good and the bad.

There is evil in life,

but God does love us,

and there is a purpose to pain.

To lead us to what

God sent us to do,

that's why I was holding his hand.

And just like God's Son,

who died in his pain,

we too can be Saviors of men.

It was time to go,

the guard took my chair,

I kneeled on the cold cement floor.

Oh that I could squeeze through

and hold in my arms,

there really was someone who cared.

Our hands held
tight as he asked me to pray,

I asked for his comfort and peace.

Tears flowed down his face,

tears ran down mine too,

flaming eyes now were serene.

I threw him a kiss,

in a room filled with light,

angels were filling that space.

His hands squeezed mine tight

as he whispered his thanks,

a sweet smile, my gift for the day.

I got up from my knees,

my heart over flowed

with thanks for a mission to fill.

I walked down dark halls

with so many doors,

lost children I needed to save.

This Poem was taken from Eva Fry's Book -

Letters from Juvenile Hall, Kids Helping Kids

Aurobindo on How to Do Yoga and Why he has Rewritten Savitri Ten or Twelve Times

The great Yogi Maharishi Aurobindo (Birth 15-8-1872 Samadhi: 5-12-1950) was very emphatic in stating that only he could write truly about himself. And hence we have to read his writings, letters etc to know about him.

Swami Vivekananda guided him in his yogic practice in Alipore jail.
Aurobindo himself revealed:"In the Alipore jail I had the Gita and the Upanishads with me, practiced the Yoga of the Gita and meditated with the help of Upanishads; these were the only books from which I found guidance; the Veda which I first began to read long afterwards in Pondicherry rather confirmed what experience I already had than was any guide to my Sadhana. I sometimes turned to the Gita for light, when there was a question or a difficulty and usually, received help or an answer from it. It is a fact that I was hearing constantly the voice of Swami Vivekananda speaking to me for a fortnight in the jail in my solitary meditation and felt his presence. The voice spoke only on a special and limited but very important field of spiritual experience and it ceased as soon as it had finished saying all that it had to say on that subject."
He has answered the question, "How to do Yoga" himself.

He says: "One (not a disciple- I had no disciple in those days) asked me how to do Yoga. I said: Make your mind quiet first" He did and his mind became quite silent and empty. Then he rushed to me saying: "My brain is empty of thoughts, I can not think. I am becoming an idiot." He did not pause to look and see where these thoughts he uttered were coming from! Nor did he realize that one who is already an idiot can not become one. Anyhow I was not patient in those days and I dropped him and let him lose his miraculously achieved silence.

The usual way, the easiest if one can manage it at all, is to call down the silence from above you into the brain, mind and body."

Aurobindo's mind became full of an eternal silence in one day. It was ever with him.
The great rishi has written the classic Savitri for the sake of mankind. He had to write and rewrite it ten or twelve times!

The disciples have been wondering why he would have to write and rewrite his poetry so many times when he had all the inspiration at his command and do not have to receive it with the difficulty that faces budding Yogis like them.

Aurobindo answered:" That is very simple. I used Savitri as a means of ascension. I began with it on a certain mental level, each time I could reach a higher level I rewrote from that level. Moreover I was particular- if part seemed to me to come from any lower levels I was not satisfied to leave it because it was good poetry. All had to be as far as possible of the same mint. In fact Savitri has not been regarded by me as a poem to be written and finished, but as a field of experimentation to see how far poetry could be written from one's own Yogic consciousness and how that could be made creative. I did not rewrite Rose of God or the sonnets except for two or three verbal alterations made at the moment."

From this we could easily understand that in Savitri we may find his Yogic consciousness. Savitri will guide a true aspirant of Yoga.

Sonnet no 21: By William Shakespeare

Sonnet no 21: By William Shakespeare Read by: Bertram Selwyn (Bernard Shakespeare) "So is it not with me as with that Muse, Stirred by a painted beauty to his verse, Who heaven itself for ornament doth use And every fair with his fair doth rehearse, Making a couplement of proud compare With sun and moon, with earth and sea's rich gems, With April's first-born flowers, and all things rare, That heaven's air in this huge rondure hems. O! let me, true in love, but truly write, And then believe me, my love is as fair As any mother's child, though not so bright As those gold candles fixed in heaven's air: Let them say more that like of hearsay well; I will not praise that purpose not to sell." How to write a Sonnet

This is how to write an English or Shakespearian Sonnet

Saturday 10 July 2010

Number Nine (English Sonnet)

Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503 - 24 September 1542), a 16th-century English lyrical styled poet, is credited as the inventor of the English sonnet by writing the first one of its type in the early 16th century. The sonnet form used by Shakespeare, composed of three quatrains and a terminal couplet in iambic pentameter with the rhyme pattern abab cdcd efef gg. This is also called the Elizabethan sonnet or English sonnet. This styled sonnet is a fourteen lined poems with a strict rhyme scheme. Additionally, it is formatted and laid out as 3 quatrains (3 sections of 4 lines each) and a rhyming couplet at the end (section of 2 lines). One may find the English sonnet at times with the lines written in iambic pentameter, where the words are metered in such a manner that causes every other syllable to have a strong, stressed sound, which creates the effect of the line ending with a strong sound. However, one may write the English sonnet without the iambic pentameter format based on the person's choice.

Number Nine

What sixty-three divided by seven,

The square root of sixteen plus five is live?

Four squared plus two minus nine, is heaven

Square root of eighty-one, this is no jive?

Number three times three, glad it's you not me

Ten minus one sounds like a crazy plan

Six plus three, believe me I have to see

Three threes, you dudes must live in a blue can

Get away, scam; this is not the real deal!

Bring me some poems and nice shrimp fried rice

Keep your math, pull your hair out and go squeal

Bring me short stories with a theme that's nice:

Now leave with your numbers added to nine,

While I sit with my muse and some fine wine!

Valentine's Day 101- Pretty Gifts for a Surprise

It's a great day for lovers on February 14th, which is the famous Saint Valentine's Day. To have a romantic Valentine's Day is every girl's dream, and sometimes, boys also hope to get some surprises during that day. Thus, it's of great importance to do a good preparation on Saint Valentine's Day. The first thing you should do is to prepare a so-called perfect gift. Then, which kind of gifts are popular in Valentine's Day, or what are wonderful enough to touch your partner? 1 Write a love poetry or a billet-doux. Forget about the flowery verse you're imagining with a lot of "thous" and "beset". Over thinking it will only take aware from the spontaneity and fun. If you don't have a lot of prior experience, don't worry about writing a sonnet or even something for public consumption. Write fun, raunchy, bawdy love poetry. If you want to get laughs, make sure it rhymes. Try not to rhyme yourself in a corner (avoid the words "orange" and "vagina"). And if you are not good at writing poetry, don't worry, a billet-doux also can make a great contribution for you. You can tell your partner the story on how you two met, which is a guaranteed beautiful present. Take your time to write out the story of how you first met your partner and how you fell in love. It can be a fun personal exercise in memory recall to do this, focusing as much on the emotional memories as the concrete things that happened. 2 Make a romantic meal. It's a nice choice to make a romantic meal at home instead of ...

malikilam making pandeiro jingles (fazendo platinelas)

Yet another video episode in the seekers journey. I love Pandeiros. I love playing them, hearing them, touching them, and now (what the fuck) making them. So, here is my first foray into the pandeiro making experience, making jingles (platinelas). With only about a 60% of suffering 3rd degree burns and never having worked brass (or any metal) in my life, I figured, Why not? [] the hero of the Odyssey is a great fighter, a wily schemer, a ready speaker, a man of stout heart and broad wisdom who knows that he must endure without too much complaining what the gods send; and he can both build and sail a boat, drive a furrow as straight as anyone, beat a young braggart at throwing the discus, challenge the Pheacian youth at boxing, wrestling or running; flay, skin, cut up and cook an ox, and be moved to tears by a song. He is in fact an excellent all-rounder; he has surpassing arĂȘte [excellence]. AretĂ© implies a respect for the wholeness or oneness of life, and a consequent dislike of specialization. It implies a contempt for efficiency...or rather a much higher idea of efficiency, an efficiency which exists not in one department of life but in life itself. Robert M. Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, design a building, conn a ship, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve an equation ...

Severus knows that if the Dark Lord found out he would kill them both. So he says he won't continue the relationship, saying it's both for their better interest. Hermione knows its not what she wants and they both know its not what Severus wants. So, Severus is tempted to start the relationship again and he knows he should not do that. So Severus packs his bags and leaves, without even telling Hermione. Hermione is heart-broken. She asks Harry to help her find him but Harry disagrees and says that it was for her better interest. So, Hermione gives up to persuade Harry. One day she can't take it anymore. She tells Harry and Ron she's gonna go looking for Severus. They chase her through the Forbidden Forest. The Forbidden Forest is very dangerous at night and has werewolves. Hermione, Ron, and Harry encounter a werewolf. Severus has been watching her all along and he comes out and saves her. After he saves her Severus tells Hermione to meet him in the Shrieking Shack. Hermione does and she says she loves him, Severus says he loves her too and they go into their relationship again. SS/HG Video #2: Im using Over You by Daughtry. Heres the storyline ...

If I was a rich man, I'd buy you your dreams If I was a better man, I'd love all you do If I was a poet, I'd write you a sonnet But I'm not good at love I wasn't built that way I'm not good at love I wasn't made that way If I was a singer, I'd sing you your song If I was a writer you'd be in my book If I was a painter, I'd paint you my dear I'm just no good at love I wasn't built that way I'm just not good at love I wasn't made that way If I was a King, I'd make you my Queen If I was the sea, you would be the moon If I could hold you forever, I know that I Would I'm not good at love I wasn't built that way I'm not good at love I wasn't made that way I wasn't made that way, but I love you withnailus Thank you for watching, feel free to comment, rate, share and if you haven't already subscribe. A New State of Bring - Unknowingly Present

Traveling this world with a new state of being

Predestination not controlling mind, body or soul

The essence of the mind controls the body

Body following the mind, doing what it says

Functioning as one united entity

Traveling this world wondering if and when

One will pass this way again; not in the same form

State of mind or type as once before; however,

Life in a state of ecstatic quality coupled with greater insight

One where negative action does not make things right

Traveling this world with a new state of being

Spiritual planes of equilibrium moving forward with a

Remarkable understanding of life and spiritual growth

Harmonic value of inherited character in being

Self reliant and self consciousness of happiness in the soul

Generated by the power of thought in mental energy

The love for life, of life, to life, and continuation of life

Traveling this world with a new state of being

Karma unveiling every day in new life and form

Bringing a state of consciousness which liberates the soul

Pure value of life moving from the past thus linking the future

State of mind bringing quality of being together

Goodness of life remembered in a new state of living

Opportunity of betterment for recreation, reoriginatation

That which, was, is, to be, and last until eternity

Traveling this world in a new state of being

Spiritual dynamics of love, life, living, and literacy

Transcendental form of actualization beyond the norm

Touching souls of many while passing this way

Traveling this world in a new state of being
